Here’s Why We Are Totally Obsessed With Team U.S.A Gymnastics… [VIDEO]

 April 24, 2022

In case you’ve missed it (where have you been?!), the 2016 U.S. women’s Olympic gymnastics team has been absolutely KILLING it, to say the least.

On Sunday (Aug. 7), 19-year-old Simone Biles and 22-year-old Aly Raisman crushed the qualifying round, finishing in first and second place, moving them on to compete in the finals in the all-around for Team USA.

“The U.S. women did what was expected of them in the all-around final, hitting all 16 routines with ease, making no major mistakes and making it look fun. At the end of their subdivision, they had earned the highest team qualifying score, 185.238, by far. Second-place team China sat nearly 10 points behind the U.S. with a score of 175.279,” reported NBC.

While Simone and Aly are definitely proving just how talented they are this year in Rio, it’s nothing short of what we expected from them — when it comes to being absolute superstars, these girls have got some history.

As the 2016 team caption, Aly has been known as “the most decorated American gymnast in London,” having previously commanded the 2012 Olympics, claiming gold medals in the team and floor competitions, as well as bronze on the balance beam.

Plus, Simone is no joke either — in fact, she’s already won 14 world gymnastic medals, a.k.a the most in U.S. history.
